Another project!

This was apart of another project that I had been working on in my 2D design class. Basically, we had to choose any object we could think of (I picked a hand), and draw them as representational art, iconic art, abstract art, or any combination of two of the three choices.

After that, we had to draw 4 rough designs of what we'll be using for the project, and then choosing the final copy. As you can see, the third and final pic here is the final copy-- an informal composition. I'm really grateful for the style of value that I used for this project.

Back to (Summer) School

Hope you don't a little extra work in between while the progress on my Alien Nation project is being made.

So yeah, I started summer school yesterday and have been working hard, while putting the storyboards on hold this week. However, I have a ton of storyboards that I intend on posting asap in the future before the month comes to an end.

Right here, is what my first assignment looks like. Basically, I had to thumbnail some rough ideas of what I'm going to be drawing for the '7 Elements of Design' advertising, and choose one for the final copy. So it may look like I'll be a little occupied for the next few weeks.

But don't worry. I'm on the home stretch with my storyboards. So, who knows what will happen. ;)

figure and head study

So I started my first day of studying under another art teacher whose going to help me learn to draw the human figure over the summer. These sketch studies are actually from one of many books that he loaned to me and I decided to make use of them and looked a bit into them tonight, instead of storyboarding my project. No worries though, I'm going to resume it asap-- probably by sunday.

Anyway, I think that this isn't a bad start at drawing the pose as seen in BH's Dynamic Figure Drawing book early on in chapter 1. However, the arm that's reaching forward is too disproportionate and the muscles look a little uneven.

That's going to be my next challenge-- to know every muscle that the human body contains.

More Storyboards (Just one more league to go!)

Can you believe that I got this much done in at least two days? Let's hope I can get the rest done by next week! :)

dumping it all out...

Just another sketchdump that I conducted. Not too happy with every character sketched, but I still think it's not all bad. I think it's really helping me figure out my strengths and weaknesses as an artist-- in terms of style.

Sketchdumping along the lines

I was extremely restless, so I decided to do a sketchdump during church and finish it up during dinner. I feels good to really exercise my ability to draw what I can think of without using a reference. The Joker, on the bottom left, doesn't quite look like the typical Bruce Timm Joker, but it's good efforts nonetheless. Again, this was really refreshing to draw a variety of styles.

More storyboards!

At this point, I'm nearing more and more towards the end of my Alien Nation promo. At this point, the promo is previewed right before the sudden twist of events happen. ;)

Eventually, I wanna share the script so you guys can read how it develops.

Right now, I gotta get going. But I'll update this blog later.

More storyboards

Just more storyboards for my project I've been working on. I think these cartoon characters are starting to go to my head XD At least it will be worth it if it gets produced. ;)

So I'm sorry I won't be able to analyze these storyboards. I'm getting tired so I'll let you guys be the judge.
