Zombie fever!

Just updating my blog before I head to Comic Con tomorrow. This whole week has been zombie fever for me. It's good though since I plan on visiting Tony Moore's booth-- I'll probably show him some of my zombie sketches that I'll post now.

Zombie concepts
These are just the few conceptual zombies that I have in mind for my comic I plan on submitting to the college paper. The one on the top left reminds me of Pig-Pen, from Peanuts, if he became a zombie. :P

Being that I liked my Pig Pen-esque zombie, I decided to draw him again. ;) He looks so cute with his flesh torn apart. And yes, he's gonna apear in my zombie college paper comic.

Zombie portrait
I decided to resketch another concept zombie in this portrait sketch. Isn't he handsome. ;)

And here's the way out:

I thought I'd also refresh my still life practice this week. This is a drawing of a staircase from our villa back in the Poconos. Since I haven't drawn anything vacation related, I thought I'd give it a shot.

I can tell I still need to work on my form, and positioning. But I'll get better soon.

That's all for now folks. :)

Callin' in Sick

This school week ended for me quicker than I thought it would. Believe it or not, I came down with a bad case of the fever and nasal congestion. Darn it! My 2nd week of college and I already had to cancel classes. :-/

Luckily, I was able to keep myself occupied art-wise.

Hah, this was my attempt at drawing a tree right outside Moseley Hall. This is considered one of the first trees I've drawn. I like the way it came out, but I feel the background detail was completely unnecessary.

It's been awhile since we heard from our old friend, Megavolt. So I took the pleasure of drawing him for old time sakes.

I gotta apologize for this sketch dump; it came out a bit crappy because I was experimenting, but did it as a rush job.

Of course, I was eventually able to draw better sketches, with my character, Amelia L. Enmity. That's right fans! I finally gave Amelia a last name. :D From this day forth, she shall be known as 'Amelia Enmity'. Because it matches her personality spot on. :D

All in all, I think I'm making more accomplishments, art-wise. Soon I'm going to prioritize drawing more art for my Trouble Shooters project, and try to revisit an old unfinished script that I wanted to do.

Talk to you later, fans. ;)

Still Life comparison practice

I took a lot of photos of the Villa Resort I was staying at, with my family's camera, during my vacation time. It was nice to work with depth and perspective using Still Life again. Too bad I still need a lot to learn. But it'll be worth it down the road. Why, I remember when I could barely draw this well.

I'm going to try drawing more vacation pics down the road.

BTW, as a reminder for those viewing, Tyler Crook/Phili Gelatt's new comic, Petrograd, debuted today. Be sure to pick it up at your nearest comic book store. God knows that I look forward to buying it. ;)
