A Couple days ago...

There was this...

and this...

I do apologize for my lack of update regarding my artwork this month. I have been on vacation with my family and have neglected updating. Don't fret. I will keep updating.

See you next post.

dumping it all out...

Just another sketchdump that I conducted. Not too happy with every character sketched, but I still think it's not all bad. I think it's really helping me figure out my strengths and weaknesses as an artist-- in terms of style.

Diving into spring break!

 pear drawings

This is a pair of pears that I drew based off my Art Professor's website. Nice to know that my shading is getting better, but I think I may redraw this.

shapes practice

Again, I decided to redraw the shapes sketch so I can work on the details of each shape, based off the photo.

Burnes Hogarth arm

Nothing much to say about this; this was just for practice.

Rejected Mad Love Cover

As seen in the Bruce Timm edition of Modern Masters, this was one of the rejected covers for Mad Love and other stories. I felt compelled to draw this so I can take what I learned from my art class and apply it to this cover. I like how I got a good angle on Harley's figure-- though some things still need a bit work.

Haha! Gotta love the Joker's reaction XD

Mr Freeze sketch

Again, this image was also taken from Modern Master's interview with Bruce Timm.

Just looking from a glance, this piece almost looks perfect; but if you look closely in the Helmet area, you can tell one problematic error. I'm posting it here just to keep record of how I did.

But again, I like how I'm applying what I've learned from my art class and putting it into good use. It shows I'm really getting there. :)

Amelia meets Dexter

Hah! Like most of you youngsters growing up, I excessively watched Dexter's Lab. It was one of my favorite cartoons of all time. Here, he's encountering one of my own characters, Amelia Enmity and it seems that some old habits never die. ;)

However, I think Amelia could be better. Something about her legs don't seem to work. It's like, they're there, but they're not properly drawn in her skirt area.

Ork, Glork N Spork storyboards

Now that I have spring break, I can finally resume my storyboard work for my Alien Nation promo I intend to put together. I think this time, the trio are really starting to pop out. I mean look at the shadowing on the characters, it seems like they're really coming alive.

That's all for now folks. Until next time, stay sharp. ;)

Staying Dangerous

'Zombie' Tad Stones

This is a piece that I drew up yesterday, in the midst of my essays and my quiz-studying, honoring Darkwing Duck's creator, Tad Stones. 20 years ago, he created DW for Disney TV animation; 20 years later, he is still involved in the TV animation world and is currently working on a pilot for Cartoon Network, storyboarding for Bob's Burgers, writing scripts for other shows, etc

Here's hoping he manages to make it to 80 and still do all that jazz. ;)

Walking Dead sketches

Of course, here's some zombie sketches that I drew up before I sketched Tad as a zombie. Eventually, I should practice with panels from my WD comics and nail down the action for practice.

Harley Quinn practice

And before I got zombie fever, I drew up some Harley Quinn sketches from Modern Masters: Bruce Timm where it featured a bunch of HQ sketches. These aren't perfect, but they're helping me nail down Harley's line of action which will help me draw women better.

That's just about it for now. ;)

new art!!

I enojyed drawing Harley Quinn for the first time, so I thought I'd give her another sketch. I actually have a sketch gag idea involving her, so I might draw it.

And of course, I drew Toy Story 3 last night, which encouraged me to draw Potato Head.

"That's Mr. Potato Head to you, you back stabbing murderer!"

Murderer?! How dare you!! XD

I also drew this cute little funny, involving Kirby, and the AC from the Brave little Toaster. I'm actually planning on submitting to my college paper when I return to school, this September. :)
